Dr. Ana-Maria Temple, MD, Owner

I attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for both undergraduate education and medical school - Go Heels!

Anne Poutier, Nurse Practitioner

My name is Anne and I'm the nurse practitioner at Integrative Health Carolinas. I've been working with Dr. Temple since 2019! Before working with Dr. Temple, I worked in hematology and oncology, inpatient pediatrics, family practice and weight loss. Before going into medicine, I got my first degree in nutrition. From my education in nutrition and my previous work experiences, my eyes were open to the importance of fueling our bodies with the right nutrition, sleep and daily activity.

I have 3 young kids, ages 6, 4 and 1. I spend most of my time outside of work keeping up with them and I enjoy a long run to keep my mental health on track. I look forward to being a part of your wellness journey!

Meet the Team

Dr. Desta Golden, Naturopathic Physician

I’m Dr. Desta Golden, a naturopathic physician and midwife with a Master’s degree in human nutrition. I received my medical degree from National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon. I love using my expertise in nutrition, botanical medicine, and homeopathy to support moms and grow healthy families from preconception through pregnancy and postpartum and into the early years of motherhood. My pet passion is optimizing infant food introduction and nutrition in the first 1000 days of life.

My husband and I now live in Virginia and are raising a healthy family of our own, with our 3 little kids and flock of backyard chickens. I’m an audiobook addict with a penchant for travel and when I’m not dreaming up our family’s next adventure, you’ll probably find me in the kitchen making vegetables.

mercedes

Mercedes Stanley, DNP, CPNP

I am a certified pediatric nurse practitioner. I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UNC-Wilmington in 2011 and my Doctorate in Nursing Practice from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2017. As a nurse, I worked in inpatient pediatrics and focused primarily in pediatric oncology. As a nurse practitioner, I have spent the past 5 years working in primary care pediatrics. As much as I appreciate modern medicine, I have experienced its shortcomings both personally and professionally. Due to this, I am convinced that preventative, holistic medicine is critical to raising a healthier, more balanced generation. I can’t imagine a better way to spend my life than to help children and families achieve overall wellness! I live in Charlotte, NC with my husband and our 2 amazing children!

Lindsay, Eczema Transformation Program Manager & Certified Health Coach

I graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill and later went back to culinary school at Johnson & Wales University. My previous jobs involved cooking with an events and catering focus. Then when my older kids were young, I ran a blog focused on nutrition and recipes for families.

My connection to eczema began when my middle son struggled with it as a baby and toddler. I found Dr. Temple, and my son went through the same steps to healing as the members of our course. Our whole family made nutrition and lifestyle changes, and as we witnessed his skin heal, we also became healthier as a whole. When Drs. John and Ana Maria decided to write the Eczema Transformation Program in 2020, they asked me to come on board to help the families in the program with cooking and recipes. I am passionate about helping others achieve better health, and enjoy connecting with the members of the eczema program. I know that the reason my son went through this was so that it would spur me to help others who also struggle with eczema.

My husband and I have 3 sons who are 10, 6, and 2. I enjoy spending time with my boys, being involved at church, learning about health and wellness, working out, hosting friends and family, and creating in the kitchen

Meet the Team (4)

Callie, Head of Sales

I began my professional career as a Cosmetologist where I found the most fulfilling part of my job to be listening and talking to people. For over 10 years, I managed my business & worked in sales within the hair industry but nothing meant more to me than building relationships with clients.

When my son was born he was an upset and difficult infant & we would soon learn he suffered from eczema. I became consumed with correlating his symptoms with diet because all my training had taught me that everything is connected. This is what led me to the online Eczema Transformation program with Dr. Temple and it was life changing for my family! The course provided a place of connection with people yet again in my life and I knew it was where I needed to be. It is because of this journey I am here and a passionate advocate for health and wellness! I believe in the power of the body to function at its best when given the proper nutrition, environment and movement. This is a message I want to share with the world around me, especially those suffering from eczema!

Grace, Sales Consultant

I am a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill and have spent my professional career in the fine art world, supporting artists in a variety of capacities.

I am a lifelong eczema sufferer but was not familiar with holistic practices until my son’s case became increasingly severe. Right before the pandemic, I chose to stay home with my two boys (now ages 3 and 6), and although I enjoyed the gift of time with them, I started realizing how severe our health issues were. Eczema, allergies, and weight issues were constant and our team of specialists ran out of suggestions. I truly believed he would never get better.

While waiting for him to age into Dupixent, we tried the Eczema Transformation course. Since then we have been able to completely taper him off steroids and my child is now living a full and beautiful life. I never believed we would get to this place, but here we are! My family's health has improved drastically and these changes have led me to become passionate about sharing this information with others.

Everything about this course spoke to me and helped heal each member of my family in some way.  I am convinced that this method is the best way to live a healthier and more fulfilling life. My family and I spend our time so differently now, most importantly by focusing on togetherness. We enjoy being outside, traveling, exploring, gardening and (if it’s a rainy day) playing with Legos.

jane

Jane Nguyen, Health Coach

My name is Jane. I had my Bachelor and Master degree in Accounting, and was a CPA working in corporate tax for 10 years. My interest in health and wellness started when both of my babies had eczema at 2 months old. I felt frustrated with our local pediatrician's response to let them grow out of it. I was up late many nights searching for different creams, foods, supplements, and formulas to help. I discovered the world of functional medicine and was able to completely reverse my children's eczema. The journey was so tough but so profound that I found my passion in health and wellness. I went back to school to become a certified health coach specializing in autoimmune conditions. I am grateful for the opportunity to be a voice of empathy and compassion for families as a health coach, and as a mom who went through the same journey myself.

Lisa

Lisa Passehl, Health Coach

I received my bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University and have an extensive background in the corporate food & beverage industry. Many years of self-led research and education eventually led me to make a mindful career shift. In early 2022, I received my Health Coaching Certification from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. Shortly thereafter, I started my own health coaching and consulting business helping busy moms adopt sustainable, healthy habits. I am honored to now be a part of Dr. Temple’s mission to help children and families heal holistically! As a wife and mom of 2 little girls as well as having been both a professional working and busy stay-at-home mom, I can personally relate to the unique challenges that each are faced with. I enjoy sharing simple, efficient tips, tricks, and tools that I use and love and am passionate about helping other families not just survive but thrive!

Little, Megan (2)

Megan Little, National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach and a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine

Hi, I’m Megan Little, and I am a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach and a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine. I received my ND training from the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon. After a couple of years in practice, I decided to pursue further training as a certified health coach because of my interest in motivational interviewing and positive psychology. I enjoy coming alongside individuals to help them strategize how to adopt healthy lifestyles that work for their families, help them work through their barriers to healing, and celebrate with them along the way as they achieve their goals.I live in Kansas City, Missouri (go Chiefs!) with my husband and three dogs. When I’m not working and the weather is nice you can find me outside in my hammock with a book.

Bryn Blackburn

Bryn Blackburn, Setter and Enrollment Specialist

My enthusiasm for health started in the pursuit of healthy skin. I attended the Aveda Institute in Chapel Hill for esthetics and worked in a salon and spa for eight years and then began my own bridal makeup company traveling all over NC. This led me to falling in love with the mountains so I moved there and then fell in love with CrossFit. I transitioned from beauty to health and fitness obtaining my CrossFit certification and Precision nutrition certification. This led me to coach and manage a CrossFit gym. I suffered postpartum depression after having my son and quickly learned that I could heal my body and mind using food and movement as medicine. My husband joined the military, we had a little girl and I have since lived in California and Louisiana and are now settled into Virginia Beach, Virginia. I am so excited to help families and children develop a holistic lifestyle and realize the power of having autonomy over their own health!

Amanda Peel, Client Success Manager

I have a background in International Marketing and Client Relations, the most fulfilling part of that career for me was getting to know people better and developing long standing relationships. I am a wife and mom to two children.

My interest in the holistic lifestyle began when I met my now husband and learned all about how his mom raised her four children holistically and all of them were extremely healthy. I dove deeper into a healthier lifestyle when I became pregnant and realized I would have a ton of very important decisions to make while pregnant, and after my daughter came into this world that would have a lasting impact.

My first experience with eczema was with my son around the age of 1, it rocked my world seeing him suffer with a severe case and local doctors wanting to only treat the symptoms. We had no family history of eczema on either side but thankfully found The Eczema Transformation Program that focused on healing him from the inside out. It felt like I lived and breathed eczema for a few years and it has become something I am so passionate about helping others overcome. This community gave me a sense of belonging and hope. I'm honored to walk alongside our amazing Eczema Transformation families on their healing journeys.
